May 4th....Alot of Mullet yesterday morning...mostly small ones.....alot of mullet today...much bigger....the water is trying to clear up caught a few blues before dark today....rained most of the afternoon....but at least the wind wasn't blowing a gale for a change....the week looks good...calling for a SE 5-10 tomorrow...the water should clear up....blues and spanish should be in here....the weekend looks sunny and hot.....

May 7th....Happy Birthday Edwin.....lots of spanish and blues early in the day....and again in the afternoon....haven't done so well with mullet today....

May 8th.....Blues and Spanish....again today...seeing a few choppers....good things are coming.....

May 9th.....More Blues more Spanish......had some mullet today too.....pretty good day....not to windy not to hot....

Garrett with a bunch of spanish and Tim Willard with 3 Sheepshead

Look what was swimming near the pier....

May 10.....still mullet and blues....cooler today and little more breezy than the day before....hear tell they caught a king on Sea View today ....not sure of its size....ours shouldn't be to far behind... tonight big catch.....

May 12....It is a little warmer today....and there were a few spanish and blues this morning....just hasn't been their best day the wind is out of the West SW....and the wind is still blowing a bit....still seeing a few mullet after dark

May 15.....The weather has been nice still a bit breezy....still seeing blues and spanish....on the end and a few mullet and heard of a few spots fishing on the bottom today......Well they finally caught what should have been a king today....they managed to bring in just the head and it weighted 7.5 lbs by it self.....and it counted as the first king just the shark got the goodies....he got the bragging rights.....I hear tell they lost another around 7pm this evening....things are looking better out there....

In the past week we have also landed six sea turtles unintentionally and have turned them over to the Topsail Island Turtle Hospital....our latest catch is named Little Bit and you can follow the turtles on their website Topsail Turtle Hospital

May 21st......Blake lands First WHOLE king....21 lbs

22nd....Lost two Cobia out there....not sure what is going on with those king fisherman out there....they will get it together eventually......seen spots in the surf.....still seeing spanish and blues...

May 23.....Do you know sometimes I lack the proper motivation to update as I should.....We have added Jan to our Pier Family and she will be helping me to keep it updated on Facebook......so now I can share the blame with her when its not updated......but you should also know the fishing report has been about the same all week.....lots of spanish and blues EARLY morning then seeing SOME again before dark in the evenings....some days are great others aren't...you just gotta come out and try your luck....(pppssssttt....I saw spots yesterday quite a few of them ....bloodworms were the only thing working well....ssshhhhh....don't tell no body)

May 25...Between the wind and rain lately not much has been going on.....yesterday there were a few blues and spanish...but it was rough not many stuck it out long.....really really quiet when I left last night might have been 2 guys out there .....today the wind has been rough the water has been spraying up through the boards.....and not many people even attempting to fish....so you ask are the fish biting.....my answer I haven't a clue.....the way the water looks there should be mullet and drum......but with no one out there kinda hard to tell......Have you found us on Facebook yet?.....Have you sent out friend request to your friends to find us on Facebook yet?...

May 31st......wow what a weekend....its finally over I think.....but I'm gonna need a few days to catch up.....Chopper blues have been plentiful....even saw a healthily plenty of spots on both sides of the pier....went through lots of bloodworms as they were the bait of choice this weekend.....seen a few mullet, spade, flounder, and sheepshead.....The weather has been nice so the weekend turned out to be nice....a little breezy but not overly so....the beaches were crowded.....this coming week they are calling for rain....now will we see it...? your guess is as good as mine.....but if the weather holds this is the week to be here should be one of the last quiet ones before school is out for the summer....come down and enjoy it while you can .......

June

June 6th....The weekend was ok ....had a little bit of everything.....spanish and blues....sheepshead and black drum....spots and mullet....and even flounder and spadefish.....now unfortunately just not a whole lot of any one thing.....lots of rain this past week....but the weekend was hot and humid.....so with the changing weather that should explain the variety of fish due to the clarity of water....

June 7th....Today the water is clear and calm....seeing lots of sheepshead around the pilings......spanish and blues popping out there....and even catching a few of them.....this will be one of the last quiet weeks...school is due to let out in most areas around us this week....let summer begin....

*** The Children's Fishing Competition and Celebration is in one month (July 3rd)....Pre Registration begins on Saturday....the first 150 children to pre register will receive a T-shirt....don't be left out....This is a free event for all children 16 years of age and younger....call or stop by the pier for more details....***

Donations are starting to come in for the Children's Tournament....if you are interested in helping with the Children's Tournament or making a donation of any kind please contact me at the pier .....every $25 donation can become a gift of a $50 savings bond for one of the young participants.....last year we had 143 children participate and we are looking to have more this year....no donation is to small or will be turned away....we hope that all the children will receive a little something by days end.....

June 9th....kinda slow today....they caught a few spanish and blues early this morning....saw a few spots in the surf....wind and surf are picking up...maybe we will do well tonight on the bottom fishing with the rougher weather....

June 13th.....Past few night seeing spots and mullet....when the water is nice they are seeing a few spanish and blues early morning and again later in the afternoon....The days are hot and muggy not much is going on during that time.....Had a small shower this morning....Summer is just getting started....come on down and visit with us.....

June 16th.....Boy is it hot out there....fishing is kinda slow....its starting to sound like an August fishing report and its only June....we are seeing a few spanish and blues and a few fish on bottom ....spots, mullet, sheepshead, spade, flounder....problem is not a whole lot of any one thing...like I said sounds like August.....as of tonight after only a few days.....I have 58 children entered in the Children's fishing Tournament.....please please get those forms filled out early so there wont be a long line the day of....looks like its going to be a good turn out..... check out what a couple kids have caught just the past couple of days......

June.....25th.....Oh yeah here is the pic of the king caught last week..........the week has been slow...slow.....slow......and did I mention HOT!.....if you come out early enough you might catch a few blues and spanish....some days have been pretty good......late afternoons and evenings...seeing a few spots and mullets.......mostly slow and hot......Updates are going to be slow again this coming week the kids fishing competition is next weekend.....been alot busy with that....if you still want to help in some way let me know...there are still a few holes that we could use help with ....looking like we are going to have a wonderful turn out....remember the kids have till monday to turn in their fish pictures/stories if they are going to write one.....

June 26th.....Two kings so far today....little slow on a few of the other things.....did have a few spots and mullet this morning.....from what dayshift told me....didnt hear about any spanish and blue....but if this morning has been like the past few .....probably caught some of those also....

June 27th....Hot Hot Hot.....no kings today...just a few spanish and blues.....and one of these and one of those......and then it looked like it was going to rain and .......everyone went home.......
